Formally established in 1994 by a group of families, the centre is based at Kings College School Guildford, Surrey and is open every Saturday from 10.30 - 14:00. The objective of the centre is to teach young children the Arabic language. Our services are available to all, regardless of their gender, colour, religion or their origin.

GAEC is a centre that is dedicated to teaching the Arabic language to children aged 6 to 16. GAEC also serves as a focal point for the community to further engender a spirit of belonging to a rich culture. This aspect is further enhanced by the presence of such a wide range of cultures and nationalities.

We regularly meet at the local community centres for social gatherings. Although these gatherings sometimes fall on religious events, they are not exclusive to such events, as we are always looking for an excuse to allow the children to have a good time outside the framework of school-work.

The school uses the book series by Attika Al-Sadi (Published and distributed by M M Books) as a syllabus for all years up to the GCSE class. The GCSE class is the final class in the school, and the syllabus is given according to the Edexcel Arabic GCSE requirements.

The fees for all children are £50 per child per term.

All services at the centre (Teaching and Management) are provided by volunteers.
